ABOUT

Fairview Farms has been owned and operated by the Sanderson family for the past nine generations, nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires in Whately, Massachusetts. Since the 1600s, the farm has undergone many changes that reflect the agriculture of the times and has evolved into the farm it is today.

In 1984, the Sanderson family purchased land along the fertile Connecticut River Valley and began growing vegetables and other seasonal products. They soon began building greenhouses to supply the demand for locally grown annuals. Today, owners Alan Jr. and his brother Brad, along with Alan's son, Jake, provide a wide variety of annual flowers such as cell trays, 4 and 5 inch pots, 10 and 12 inch hanging baskets, patio pots of assorted sizes, and speciality containers.

Recently the farm has expanded to include wholesale greenhouse tomatoes twice a year: available approximately from May 1st through July 15th and October 15th through January 15th. All told, Fairview produces flowers and tomatoes in a greenhouse complex totaling 3.5 acres.
